Let's work together to build an Clean Operational Watershed at Highland Park Subdivision in West Mobile Alabama

We are homeowners in HIghland Park. My husband has lived here since 1995.  Highland Park Subdivision needs a watershed that is properly managed for public health and the safety of us all. We need an operational watershed that will not become an eyesore or a public health menace  that will ultimately destroy our property values.  We need a watershed community that takes into consideration how stormwater runoff and underground water drainage and sewer systems have affected Optimist Lake over the years.  Over the past 50 years the increase in drainage and stormwater runoff due to new construction has toppled our dam.  Lack of professional, competent planning, repair, and maintenance have contributed to the destruction of the dam over time. Some of the surrounding property owners contributing to the destruction of HPca land are: the City of Mobile, the County of Mobile, MAWSS, private property owners, and local area businesses who funnel their runoff and drainage into the Milkhouse Creek System. Over the past fifty years, with little to no consideration to our watershed community other than it is here for them to use and abuse, the new constructions and builds has effectively and callously without remorse torn down our dam and destroyed our lakeside ecosystem. I bring to you information on how to correct and remediate this problem. I  use our HPca legal documents and other legal means to fix this problem so that we may live in peace enjoying a well managed lakeside community. Operating legally gives us full authority to bring the necessary funds and developers to rebuild this watershed for the greater good.  This is why I do what I do.
